I love ‘Love Actually’. It is definitely one of my favourite feel-good movies of all time. I know all the songs. I love all the characters, especially Hugh Grant as the Prime Minister because he is amazing. And Thomas Brodie-Sangster, more recently seen in The Maze Runner, is so adorable in this movie too.
I think Richard Curtis is such an amazing writer too. The movie is such a simple idea, not too over the top, not too sad, plenty of laughs – Hugh Grant’s dancing is just awesome, Rowan Atkinson taking his time with wrapping up a Christmas present, and little Sam running after the girl he loves and being chased by security guards at the airport, that was really cute. I also think it is one of Hugh Grant’s best performances too. It felt like he was playing himself all through the movie. I do wish they had done a little more with Laura Linney’s character, Sarah, you know, built a bit more on the relationship with Karl, he was gorgeous, but it was such a wonderful movie anyway. It is one of those ones that I never tire of watching, and when I am feeling low I always like to watch it. I wasn’t feeling low tonight, I will add, but it was just nice to watch because it makes me smile.
Why have they never done another Love Actually? Or at least a follow up and call it something else. That would be really cool.
I think they would have to bring back all the characters. Everyone, including Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Bill Nighy and Keira Knightley, and even Ant and Dec. Sometimes you forget they were in it. You get the idea.
Love Actually really is one of the best movies ever.
